Apartments five minutes from the beach in Tossa de Mar

Apartamentos El Sol II is at Avinguda de Ferran Agulló, 2, in the centre of Tossa de Mar. From the front door to the sand of Platja Gran is about a five-minute walk. No car, no bus, and no hunting for a parking space twice a day.

What changes is not the walk itself, it is what the walk allows. Coming back to the apartment for lunch and heading down again in the afternoon. Going up for sun cream without writing off the day. Hanging the towels out instead of carrying everything with you. With children, that is the difference between a day at the beach and moving house every morning.

And there is not one beach within walking distance, there are three. Platja Gran is the town beach, the big one, with the Vila Vella at the far end. Mar Menuda is more sheltered and quieter: the best choice if you are travelling with small children. And Cala Codolar, a pebble cove just the other side of the walls, stays calm even in August.

The ten apartments are on the second and third floors and range from 17 to 22 m². All of them have a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen —fridge, coffee maker and real cookware— and towels, bed linen and a drying rack included; the drying rack matters more than it sounds when you come back with wet swimsuits every day. If you want a bathtub after the beach, look at Loft 201, 203 or 206. If there are three of you, Loft 202, 302 or 305, the only one with two single beds as well as the sofa bed. And if you prefer a shower, in and out quickly, Loft 304 or 306.

One thing we would rather say before you book: the balconies are private and have outdoor furniture, but they look over the town, not the sea. We are not a seafront hotel and we do not sell ourselves as one. We are in the centre, five minutes from the sand, and that is exactly what you get.
